Hydrogen Cell Water Turning Green

I was talking with a good friend of mine the other day and was asked a question. He has been building some homemade hydrogen cells and was having a problem that he was stumped about. His water in the cell would turn a bluish green color after some time with it running. He was asking Continue reading →

Making Potassium Hydroxide – Lye

Lye made from hardwood ashes is potassium hydroxide and not sodium hydroxide.
But it works the same for our hydrogen generator cells or boosters and some say it is better.
Plus it is easy to make!

Terminology of HHO Booster Cells and Sensors

Electrolyte: Water and a chemical
Used to make the water more conductive so electricity will flow through it for our hydrogen production in our hydrogen boosters. Usually the best is sodium or potassium hydroxide. Some use salt, and some use baking soda. But for longevity of the stainless steel plates you really should use sodium or potassium hydroxide, commonly know as Lye.
